I am sure you hear it all the time - tennis is a mental sport! But what does that actually mean and how can we train that part of our body?
Tennis is clearly a physical sport but often times players of all ages and abilities lose to players who 'aren't as good as them'. Why is that?
It could be down to the mind! Something I have seen a lot is the Fear of Losing is greater than the Want of Winning! Players often go on a court and try not to lose, rather than actively try and win. It's a big difference in mindset.
Next time you go out on court, make it a priority to play the game you play in practice and try to shift away from being scared to miss a shot, or lose the match. You can't win every point!
